Park Bom 2NE1 Plastic Surgery Before and After
Korean and plastic surgery had been nice topic for the people especially the K-pop lovers. You might remember Jang Geun Suk, Lee Min Ho, Lee Da Hae etc who went under plastic surgery and got successful works. But not all Korean celebrities got successful work.
When we think of plastic surgery some of us automatically turn to Hollywood and America, but South Korea is actually the country that has the most plastic surgeries per capita in the entire world. Over 980,000 operations took palace in 2014 alone which means that for every 1,000 people twenty people are likely to be having some form of plastic surgery.
Some say that, in South Korea, plastic surgery has simply become normal and now more and more young women are having work done in their twenties so they can look their very best. Sometimes this pays off, but if done badly plastic surgery can leave you a lot worse off than you were before.
Park Bom, a member of the Korean band 2NE1, has had extensive plastic surgery procedures. We will look into that in a moment and see if she has indeed gone too far, but first let’s learn a bit more about who Park Bom is.
Park Bom
Park Bom is currently 33 years old. She was born in Seoul in 1984 and, when she was only in sixth grade, Park Bom left Korea on her own to go to school in America. Park became interested in becoming a musician in high school, but her parents didn’t want her to pursue it as a career. She wouldn’t be deterred though and she ended up transferring to Berklee College of Music without telling them.
When Park Bom returned to Korea, she was determined to pursue a music career. She auditioned for three years before you were accepted into the YG Entertainment company, and in 2009 she became the main vocalist of the band 2NE1. Later on that very same year, 2NE1 had a number 1 hit with their songs ‘I Don’t Care’.
The band was short lived, however, and in August 2009 each of the members took a break from the group to focus on their solo careers. Park had a number 1 hit on the Gaon Chart in November 2009 for her song ‘You and I’ which won ‘Best Digital Single’ at the Mnet Asian Music Awards the next year. That song went on to become one of the best-selling singles ever to come out of Korea.
Park released a few more singles, she formed another group with Lee Hi, and in 2014 she got a part in a reality TV show called ‘Roommate’. However, Park soon had to leave the show because she was involved in a drug scandal.
Drug Scandal
Park came under investigation in 2010 for smuggling 80 tablets containing amphetamines through the mail. She wasn’t charged at the time. A statement from the YG Entertainment group explained that the drugs she was smuggling were legal in the US (although illegal in South Korea) and, because she was unable to pick them up due to her work as a famous singer, she had to have them delivered.
Park had apparently gone through medical care in South Korea, but she still felt that she needed these tablets. The story came out in 2014 and she withdrew from the public eye for two years as a result of the scandal.
She did resurface around Christmas 2015, but in 2016 her band 2NE1 was disbanded by the label. Other members’ Cl and Sandara were given solo contracts, but Park Bom seemed to have been pushed out.

Plastic Surgery
In 2017, it came out that the YG Entertainment label had fired Park from her contract and had forced her band to disband because of her scandal, but that wasn’t the only reason.
It was because of the cosmetic surgeries she is meant to have undertaken.
Remember that Park is in a feud with the label and they may have said those things in order to slander her, although of course they could also very well be true.
There seems to be a general consensus that Park has had some work done, so now the question is what work has she had done and was it a good idea? Let’s talk about her eyes first.
Eyes
Many Korean people have narrow eyes and double eyelids. If you look at the ‘before’ images of Park you can see a bit of a natural crease on her eyelids. Park’s ‘after’ images show that, perhaps through eyelid surgery, her eyelids are more deep set. Many people seem to think that this makes Park look artificial and that her eyes were a lot nicer before.
Nose
There is a lot of speculation that Park has had more than one nose job and her nose has become narrower than it used to be.
If you look at the ‘before’ photo, you can see that Park has a slightly wider nose with a heavier tip. In the ‘before’ image the tip of her nose and her nostrils are almost the same length, but in the ‘after’ image you can see that the tip of her nose looks longer, thinner and somehow sharper than it did before.

Chin
One of the most criticized aspects of Park’s plastic surgery is her chin. You can see in her ‘before’ photos that Park had a fairly round face with a small chin. In her after photos, however, not only is Park’s chin noticeably longer, but it looks a little slanted and uneven.
Her face doesn’t look symmetrical any more, and as humans are naturally attracted to symmetrical faces it does seem like that may have been a mistake. Perhaps her plastic surgeon made a mistake? Could her chin have changed naturally?
Lips
If you look at ‘before’ photos of Park, she has very nice lips which are just right for her face. If you look at some of the ‘after’ images, however. You will see that her new lips don’t look that natural. Her bottom lip is too large and, in certain images, her face almost looks a little droopy.
Park Bom Breast Implants
Boobs
Many people assume that Park Bom had breast implants because, if you look at later photos of her, her breasts do look a lot bigger than they do before. This may have been a result of weight gain, and it could also just be a natural side-effect of getting older, but a lot of people aren’t buying it. Some people think that Park’s alleged boob job makes her look heavier than it is and it wasn’t a good idea.
Verdict
It doesn’t seem like Park Bom has admitted to having any work done. We should remember that the star was meant to be suffering from lymphatic disease (which would make her face as well as her nodes swell) and so perhaps at least some of the plastic surgery allegations are just down to illness.
This may well be true, and if it is it’s really sad that people keep accusing her when it’s due to a literal illness, but it doesn’t explain her chin growth or the larger breasts. However, we need to remember that people’s faces do change rather significantly as people get older and someone’s face may look a lot different in their thirties than it did in their twenties.
If you’ve ever seen ‘Friends’ and you’ve seen how Rachel’s face changed over the course of ten years you’ll know what I’m talking about. Perhaps Park hasn’t had any surgery at all, but her face is just naturally changing as she gets older. Maybe her larger boobs are down to weight gain (which is also likely to happen as someone gets older). And maybe everything else is down to her lymphatic disease.
The one thing this still completely doesn’t explain, however, is the nose. The nose may just look different if the rest of her face has changed, but has her nose changed too much to still be natural? What do you think?

I blame the nobody-losers known as netizens who have nothing better to do than scrutinize every aspect of a young woman’s body. I can only imagine for idols it’s 100x worse. If you feel good about yourself before gaining fame; wannabes, misogynists and envious life-failures will never stop attacking you.
